LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Trailer Unleashes a Hilarious New Grogu Adventure

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is turning one of Disney+’s biggest Star Wars stories into a brick-built comedy, and the first trailer promises plenty of chaos, action and Grogu.

Unveiled at D23 2026, the new trailer confirms that the animated special will arrive exclusively on Disney+ on September 2, 2026. Rather than continuing the live-action story, the special will give fans a comedic LEGO makeover of all three seasons of The Mandalorian.

LEGO Grogu Is Back, And Trouble Follows

At the heart of the special is the relationship between Din Djarin, better known as the Mandalorian, and Grogu.

The LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian trailer teases the pair rebuilding their bond while revisiting some of the most recognizable moments from the hit Disney+ series. Only this time, everything is made of LEGO, meaning familiar battles, villains, and dramatic Star Wars moments are likely to receive a much more ridiculous twist.

The official synopsis describes the project as a comedic retelling of all three seasons of The Mandalorian, giving audiences a chance to revisit the bounty hunter and the Child’s journey in an entirely new format.

For longtime fans, that could mean a rapid-fire trip through major characters and storylines from the series without taking the galaxy far, far away quite so seriously.

A Massive Star Wars Voice Cast

The animated special features an enormous ensemble of returning and familiar voices.

Gavin Hammon voices the Mandalorian, while David Acord provides the voice of Grogu and MA-13. Amy Sedaris returns as Peli Motto, with Bill Burr as Migs Mayfeld and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze.

The cast also includes Emily Swallow as the Armorer, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.

Other major Star Wars characters appearing include Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Cobb Vanth, Greef Karga, Carson Teva and IG-11/IG-12.

Temuera Morrison, Eric Bauza, Timothy Olyphant, Carl Lumbly, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Taika Waititi are among the performers joining the extensive cast.

Expect the LEGO Treatment to Change Everything

The appeal of LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is not simply watching the original story recreated with digital bricks. The LEGO franchise has built its reputation on turning dramatic Star Wars moments into irreverent comedy.

That approach could be especially entertaining with The Mandalorian, a series packed with deadly bounty hunters, Imperial villains, alien creatures and intense battles.

The special is based on Star Wars, created by George Lucas, and draws inspiration from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
