Samsung India announced the launch of the Galaxy C9 Pro today in Bhubaneswar and customers can pre-book the device from January 27 through select online and offline stores. In the latter half of February 2017 the phone would be available across all retail channels at a price of Rs. 36,900.
On pre-booking, the manufacturing giant will offer a one-time screen replacement opportunity for a period of 12 months and the Galaxy C9 Pro is available in two colours – Black and Gold. It is the first smartphone from the company with 6GB of RAM and was launched in China back in October.
The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is a dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) phone that is 4G-enabled and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmellow out-of-the-box. It sports a 6-inch full HD (1080×1920) AMOLED display, and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC, with four cores clocked at 1.95GHz and the rest at 1.4GHz.
The device is fitted with a 16-megapixel for both, front and rear. The rear camera comes with an aperture of f/1.9 and a dual-LED flash and while the front-facing camera also has the same aperture, it does not have the flash module. The Galaxy C9 Pro houses an inbuilt storage of 64GB and is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The smartphone packs a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support and has a fingerprint scanner mounted on its physical home button. Along with the 4G LTE, the connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro include Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), GPS, Glonass, Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 162.9×80.7×6.9mm and weighs 189 grams.
