Yamaha: Absolute Hybrid Maple Drum Set
Yamaha launched their Absolute Maple Drum Set in January this year. Hybrid shell technology combines the weight and comfort advantages of in-mold technology with the robustness of the hard shell construction. Prepared for the occasion of a crash, the hard shell is not just highly durable, but also distributes the pressure across its surface. The extra-light in-mold shell for the lower head wraps around the entire rear of the head to provide optimal protection.
Features
Hybrid Maple Shell
The flagship PHX series, which this model belongs to, employs the hybrid shell technology so that any sound, be it a whisper or a thunder, can sound perfect. It’s made up of an African wood called wenge that makes up the core ply.
Hook Lug
For precise tuning, this feature allows you to achieve it without the loss of much time. It can also weather high-tension tuning. This feature brings out the drum sets’ natural sustain and volume.
YESS III
The YESS III mount is embedded to reduce the dampening of the sound by allowing the membrane to vibrate more freely.
Low-Mass Tom Holder Base
For optimum vibration of the drum shell, the low-mass light-weight tom holder base complements the drum sets performance.
Vent Hole
Vent holes contribute to the enhancement of tone colors in midrange to low-frequency sounds, as well as the control of sustain. This feature has been one of the most prominent factors that drove Yamaha’s latest series of drums.
Here’s a sneak peek at what the set looks like and how it functions.
