Nazara Games signs agreement with Stick Sports to create Cricket game featuring Kohli and Sharma
Aiming to create a cricket game featuring Indian ace batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Nazara Games has signed a revenue-sharing agreement with Stick Sports, a London and Sydney based online and mobile game developer. It will use an artificial intelligence-based system to help players acquire certain skills including styles of bowling, batting in different degrees of difficulty.
Nazara Games has an exclusive mobile gaming deal with Cornerstone Sport , the agency which has the digital and gaming rights for the Indian cricketers. The game is scheduled to be launched in September or October in both emerging and developed markets.
According to Manish Agrawal , CEO of Nazara Games, the single player game will see a high level of traction from international cricket frenzy markets like Australia and the UK.
“The agreement will focus on Stick Sports paying us for publishing the game in emerging markets and we making a payment to them for publishing the game in developed markets,” added Manish Agarwal.
Paul Collins, CEO of Stick Sports, said in a statement- “The task and challenges inside the game allow you to play as either Rohit or Virat, you can update these skill sets as you go along,”
Nazara Games has grabbed a 26% stake in London-based mobile gaming startup Mastermind Sports earlier last month. It is a leading mobile games developer and publisher focused on the large mobile consumer base in India and worldwide.
Apart from developing a range of branded and original mobile games, Nazara operates unique services such as “Games Club” and also serves as an exclusive distributor for key game developers such as Electronic Arts. Its customers include mobile carriers as well as handset manufacturers.
