Aiming to further strengthen its technology and expand its footprint, women-centered jobs and career platform Sheroes.in has raised Rs 12 crore in a Series-A funding led by Lumis Partners.
Also participated in the funding were the HR Fund, angel investor Rajul Garg and existing investor Quintillion Media which is led by Raghav Bahl. The transaction had Dexter Capital as the exclusive financial advisor and Vertices Partners as the legal advisor to Sheroes.
Sairee Chahal, the founder of Sheroes, said, “Getting the right kind of investment support is crucial,…With this capital raise, we will further strengthen our investment in technology, resources and growing the company’s footprint.”
It had last year raised funds in an angel round from Quintillion Media, 500 Startups and a group of individuals including Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Rajan Anandan, Binny Bansal, Mekin Maheshwari, Girish Mathrubhootham, Indus Khaitan and Krishna Mehra.
Sandeep Sinha, managing partner at Lumis Partners said in a statement, “Sheroes has demonstrated great results in a very short period of time and we are looking forward to accelerating the same. The size of the opportunity, as well as the impact it can generate, is really exciting.”
Founded back in 2014, Sheroes is planning to expand its footprint from 12,000 companies to 30,000 in the next 18 months. The venture aims to take its career support helpline to a number of women via their mobile phones.
Quintillion Media founder Bahl says: “The website has shown great traction. It is an innovative business model and high impact makes it a compelling startup.”
Sheroes also plan to scale up its pilots around the work-from-home segment. The company has communities spread across major metros and tier II cities including Jaipur, Indore and Pune.
