Microsoft plans education event on Nov 9, may launch Surface Laptop SE

Microsoft has announced that it will be hosting an education-focused event on Tuesday. Though the tech giant has not revealed much about the event, it is widely speculated that the Redmond-based company will expands its Surface laptop line up specially designed to cater to the education sector.




The work from home and online classes has forced companies to think out of the box and this laptop will be targeting students and entry segment buyers.

“Join us at 9AM PT on Tuesday, November 9, as we share an inside look at the latest tech solutions while examining gaps in learning left by the pandemic. Hear from Microsoft partners, school leaders and a few special guests, and learn about new and existing technology from Microsoft Education,” the company said.

The event comes about a month after the release of Windows 11 and might include education-focused updates for the operating system. The laptop is expected to feature an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 resolution display, coupled with an Intel Celeron N4120 processor, and up to 8 GB of RAM. In addition, the device is expected to pack a single USB-A, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port. It will also contain an Intel Celeron N4120. Other specs include a full-sized keyboard and trackpad, a USB-A port, a USB-C port, a headphone jack, and a barrel-style charging port. The new device could be priced under $400 (around Rs 29,670). Microsoft is reportedly targeting student use in a classroom setting and wants it to be as low-cost as possible.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has fixed several Windows 11 features failing to load after an expired certificate was discovered earlier this week.
