Acid House Legend Charanjit Singh to Play at Magnetic Fields Festival
As a recent addition to the line-up at Magnetic Fields Festival slated to take place from December 13 to 15, Charanjit Singh, an 80s legend of the house music scene will be revisiting his 1982 album Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat, which in a way stands as the forefather of house before it earned itself a title of ‘mainstream’ since the last decade.
Most interestingly, Singh will have his Roland 808, Jupiter 8 synth flown in for the show; the same machine that was once responsible for churning up the hypnotic tunes in 1982 – five years before the first acid house record was launched by Chicago-based artist Phuture.
