Coldplay set to tour India, will Bollywood ruin it for Genuine Music Lovers?
Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, visited India and made a sleight in and out at one of Delhi’s pubs. Obviously, the whole country was dripping in desperation for a full-fledged Coldplay concert after that.
Then came the rumours of a planned concert and tickets priced at 25,000 each – which turned out to be fake. Finally, Coldplay announced they would be performing in Mumbai along with Hip-Hop legend Jay Z and tickets to the concert could be won for free!
To win tickets, one would have to register at globalcitizen.in and sign petitions online urging governments to improve in areas of education, equality, and clean water and sanitation. Carry out all the actions during the Action Journey for social change and earn a minimum of 16 points and you would be eligible for the draw.
Then came the bad news, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Arijit Singh, Monali Thakur and Dia Mirza were added to the line-up of featured performances. Not sure who suggested this to Coldplay, it couldn’t have been Sonam Kapoor, because it would take more than just a 5 second appearance to discuss this, right?
This line up of Indian actors lip syncing and dancing, instead of more Indian musicians, has left so many disappointed and averse to attending the concert. I wish Coldplay were to consider opinions of the concert goers, at least – wouldn’t you much rather prefer Deepika Padukone than Dia Mirza on stage?
Maybe even Honey Singh and Badshah could have been roped in to top it off!
