Recently having performed at over 35 concerts in Europe, Indian classical-punk band Tritha is boasting big with its 10 city tour of India, titled “PaGLi”, starting October 27. With its first performance at Ooty’s Go Mad Festival, the band will be promoting their debut album PaGLi (the same name as the tour) in cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kolkata among others.

Three French musicians and Kolkata-based punk singer Tritha make up the band. With Paul Schneiter from Menwhopause on drums, Tony Guinard from the Skavengers on bass and Mathias Durand on guitars, the band’s music is a fusion of Indian classical vocals and western psychedelic rhythms that usually has an underlying haunting tune.

Interestingly, due to the presence of French musicians, a part of the album was recorded in France, another part in Italy, and to retain the Indian element, the rest was completed in India.

Check out the crimson-hued video to the track “PaGLi” that received a hearty welcome despite its starkly disturbing images. Get your minds tingling to the album’s tracks here. See here for exact dates of the tour and updates on the band.
