According to Sam Thomas, Founder of Golden Baritone India’s M&E industry is heading for a transformation and is expected to reach INR 1,30,000 by 2020

The digitally enabled creative collaboration centre, Golden Baritone, is ready to set up its first studio in Bangalore soon. Offering end-to-end solutions for feature films, documentaries, music albums and advertisements, the planned studio will be worth INR 7 crore.

Backed by an understanding of global media and entertainment industry, it will merge media with IT skills. The studio will be offering high-quality post-production in collaboration with major M&E companies like Sound Deluxe USA, Halo Post UK and other Independent producers from US and Europe in compliance for a Dolby Premier setup.

Lack of technology, professionalism and efficient customer service has kept India deficient of the levels of expertise in Hollywood. Noticing this, Sam Thomas brought about Golden Baritone in 2012, targeting mostly big-budget Indian films and Hollywood projects. He has managed to bring on board Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty as Head of its Film Mix division, Neil Sadelkar – renowned film editor – and award-winning sound engineer Madhu Vishwanathan. The office complex has been strategically located near the Bengaluru International Airport and is designed by French Engineer Dedier Weiss.

With nearly 300 animation, 40 VFX and 85 game development studios and more than 15,000 professionals in this space, India is soon gaining momentum in the segment. Currently, the VFX segment in India is pegged at INR 43.5 billion and is expected to grow to INR 87.1 billion by 2020. By the end of 2016, the revenue for the M&E industry, is expected to reach INR 1,30,000 crore. Indian media and entertainment industry is realising the potential for VFX possibilities, in both domestic films as well as outsourced projects and the movie making value-chain is heading for a transformation.

Sam Thomas, Spokesperson of Golden Baritone said, “Although, off late visual effects used in Bollywood have become quite seamless but the realm as a whole still lags behind when it comes to performing visual effects in troves. By setting up our first studio in the country, we endeavour to match pace with international benchmarks on the global post production stage and become one of the few companies in the media and entertainment industry which enables talent and technology to be collaborated to deliver memorable projects.”
