MG Motor India, the British automobile brand with a rich 100-year legacy, has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing India’s startup ecosystem by participating as the Official Mobility Partner in Startup Mahakumbh 2024. This event, themed ‘Bharat Innovates‘, is a unique initiative bringing together startups, investors, incubators, accelerators, and industry leaders from various sectors. As the sole auto OEM participant, MG Motor is showcasing its dedication to fostering innovation in India.
The startup ecosystem in India has seen tremendous growth, and MG Motor has been at the forefront of supporting this growth through its MG Developer Program and Grant (MGDP). Now in its fifth season, the MGDP focuses on encouraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Electric Mobility, aiming to create a pipeline of new ideas and innovations in the country.
MG Motor has a history of collaborating with tech startups to develop applications for the automotive industry, ranging from in-product innovations to customer experience enhancements. At Startup Mahakumbh, the carmaker is providing an exclusive opportunity to nine startups, selected from various MGDP seasons and other innovation initiatives, to showcase their solutions at the dedicated MG Pavilion.
The event, held from March 18-20, 2024, in New Delhi, is a collaborative effort of ASSOCHAM, Nasscom, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, TiE, and the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA). It aims to connect startups with investors, including VCs, angel investors, family offices, and HNIs, as well as potential corporate partners. This platform celebrates and fosters the spirit of creativity and ingenuity within India while embracing a global perspective.

Through the MG Developer Program, MG Motor India has provided mentorship to more than 1500 startups across diverse fields, including Connected Car technology and electric mobility, in collaboration with esteemed partners such as Jio, SAP, and Exicom. The program aims to position India as a pivotal hub for innovation and technology, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence within the Electric Mobility sector.
