First Leg of Weekender Finishes With a Bang
NH7 Weekender pumped good vibes in the student city of Pune the whole weekend. A fest like the NH7 weekender is the perfect place for hordes of different people with varying artistic and music sensibilities can all come and enjoy a peaceful three days of love and music.
Dutch metal heads Textures headlined at the Black Rock Arena for what was one of the most epic gigs ever. Skindred belted out their infamous Welsh rock to the audience who braved even some rains to watch their favourite artists. Skindred really took Day 2 to another level, escalating the level of audience participation. With the singer explaining, the entire crowd did a ‘Newport Helicopter’, which is basically when you take off your shirt and swing it around in arcs above your head, like the rotors of a helicopter.
The Red Bull Tour Bus made its stop at Pune with bands like The Supersonics and Until We Last playing.
The venue, Laxmi Lawns, was a perfect amalgamation of different stages, varied music, smells of good food, and some good art too. The Levi’s ® NH7 Pioneer Studio on the festival grounds is where you can get your very own custom, screen-printed festival T-Shirt in ten minutes. After the fest, the after parties continued everywhere. One insane gig was the session at Levis Pioneer Studio which saw the likes of Ankur Tewari, Nischay Parekh, Ananda Sen and Siddharth Basrur. The set concluded with this tribute to frequent NH7 contributing writer Naman Saraiya.
All in all, the 4th edition of the Weekender kicked off in style with the home crowd of the Pune leg making the best use of the three day festival.
