PURE EV launches e-scooter ETrance at Rs. 56,999 with 1.25 KWH portable battery

PURE EV has launched an e-scooter ETrance, which the company promises have been built for Indian road conditions and is the answer to the consumers’ need for daily short commutes. Priced at Rs 56,999 (ex-showroom), the ETrance comes with a robust chassis design and advanced features like regenerative braking and indicator that shows the percentage of battery capacity remaining.

Pure EV in an official statement said ETrance Plus is the company’s fifth product, and It comes with 1.25 KWH portable battery providing 65 km on-road range. PURE EV is an electric vehicle vertical of the startup PuREnergy, incubated out of IIT Hyderabad. The company manufactures high-performance Lithium batteries.




PURE EV plans to expand its manufacturing base to a larger facility with an annual capacity of 2 lakh electric vehicles (EVs) and battery manufacturing capacity of 5 GWh in comparison with the existing capacities of 20,000 EVs and 0.5 GWh. The statement said this would be achieved at a new 2 lakh sq ft plant, which the company intends to commission in 2021 to meet the anticipated growth in the Indian electric vehicles and lithium battery market.

Rohit Vadera, PuREnergy CEO, said the company is constantly innovating, keeping in mind the requirements of middle-class Indian consumers. He said the thrust on personal mobility had increased significantly and people are looking for electric scooters at affordable prices. “We are confident that this model will meet the requirements of the majority of customers looking to buy EVs for their daily short commutes,” Vadera said.

Moreover, the growing awareness of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollutions is pushing consumers to adopt e-scooters and motorcycles. Experts say that electric vehicles have the potential to reduce dependence on crude oil. Furthermore, the cost-effectiveness of EVs due to government incentives and long-term fuel savings along with environmental friendliness are vital factors increasing the purchase of electric vehicles in India.
