Demonic Resurrection To Play Wacken Open Air 2014

Indian metal veterans Demonic Resurrection will be playing at Wacken Open Air2014. One of the world’s biggest metal festivals with almost 80,000 attendees in the small village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany, this cult hit, usually spread over three days, is the epitome of global metal and has been running successfully for over two decades. Indian bands playing at Wacken is an extremely prestigious thing. In the past, Wacken Open Air try-outs for bands resulted in metal acts Eccentric Pendulum, Zygnema and Devoid all playing successively at the massive German metal fest. Wacken Open Air, this year, will be held from July 31 to August 2, featuring international stalwarts like Megadeth, Emperor, Hatebreed, Iced Earth and Motorhead.

“It’s very hard to put into words exactly how it feels. For us it’s still just a small step forward but when you’ve been busting your ass for 14 years it definitely feels like a big deal, given that it is the coveted ‘Wacken Open Air’ the festival most metal heads dream about playing or attending. It’s definitely going to be a religious experience and we’re going to deliver a kick-ass performance,” said frontman Demonstealer aka Sahil Makhija.

With three full length albums out and an impressive career spanning over a decade, the final chapter in the Darkness trilogy, The Return to Darkness was a walloping 10-track record. Demonic Resurrection is set to release a new album sometime this year on Candlelight Records worldwide and on Universal Music in India.
