Karol G and Bruno Mars Get Playful Backstage in ‘Still’ Video as Their Emotional Duet Takes Over

Karol G and Bruno Mars turn a stadium performance into an intimate backstage celebration in the new “Still” music video, giving fans a candid look at their unexpected collaboration.

Karol G and Bruno Mars are giving fans a side of their blockbuster collaboration they did not get to see from the stadium seats.

The global superstars have released the official music video for “Still,” their emotional English-language duet, combining playful behind-the-scenes footage with explosive moments from their first-ever live performance together at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

And while the song is about heartbreak and unconditional love, the video is anything but gloomy.

Karol G and Bruno Mars’ Sweetest ‘Still’ Moments

Shot largely in black and white, the video follows Karol G and Bruno Mars as they prepare for their Aug. 15 performance during Karol G’s Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour stop in Los Angeles.

The cameras capture the pair laughing together in empty stadium seats, hanging out backstage, rehearsing, riding around the venue in a utility cart and exchanging playful moments before stepping in front of more than 50,000 fans.

The intimate footage gives “Still” a completely different personality, showing the chemistry between the two performers before the massive live show takes over.

Then comes the dramatic switch.

As Karol G and Bruno Mars hit the stage, the video bursts into color, transforming the monochrome backstage world into a huge stadium spectacle.

‘Still’ Turns Heartbreak Into a Power Ballad

“Still” appears on Karol G’s latest album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, which made an immediate impact on the U.S. charts.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200.

The Bruno Mars collaboration stands apart from much of Karol G’s Spanish-language catalog. Sung entirely in English, “Still” leans into an ’80s-inspired synthwave aesthetic, pairing nostalgic production with a soaring power-ballad structure.

Lyrically, the song explores the complicated emotions that remain after a relationship ends. Its central idea is simple but devastating: love can survive even when the relationship itself does not.

That emotional tension makes the playful footage in the music video even more striking.

Karol G Says the Song ‘Found’ Her

Karol G previously explained that she did not want fans to view “Still” simply as her attempt to release an English-language song.

In an August TikTok video, the Colombian superstar said she has always been open to recording in different languages when the music develops naturally.

She described “Still” as a song that perfectly captured what she was feeling at the time and said she hoped it would connect emotionally with listeners.

The collaboration also required Karol G to make a rapid trip to record with Mars while he was on tour.

The result became one of the most anticipated tracks from her new album and eventually gave the pair an opportunity to perform together in front of a massive Los Angeles crowd.

Bruno Mars Surprise Electrifies SoFi Stadium

Mars’ appearance at Karol G’s Los Angeles show was a major moment for fans.

The performance marked the live debut of “Still”, with the two stars sharing the stage during Karol G’s second sold-out night at SoFi Stadium.

The newly released video essentially turns that performance into a backstage-to-stage story, allowing viewers to see what happened before the surprise appearance and then watch the payoff when thousands of fans erupted.

The black-and-white visuals also reinforce the nostalgic mood of the track before the color performance delivers the big concert moment.

Two Superstars, Two Massive Tours

Neither Karol G nor Bruno Mars is slowing down.

Karol G’s Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour continues through October before expanding across Latin America and Europe, with more than 60 shows scheduled through July 2027.

Mars is simultaneously touring behind his latest album, The Romantic, with a worldwide run spanning more than 115 stadium shows.

The two artists may be on separate global tour schedules, but “Still” has created a crossover moment that brings their audiences together.

And with its mix of heartbreak, nostalgia, superstar vocals and unexpectedly playful backstage footage, the new video could give the collaboration another major boost.

For fans, the biggest surprise may be how naturally Karol G and Bruno Mars fit together — both onstage and off it.
