Last Minute Halloween DIYs

When you’re bad at planning in advance, last minute DIYs are always a great way to get what you need done in the shortest possible time. With a tight budget, or less time, it can be tricky figuring out the right set of attire or props to take to a Halloween party, so we’ve compiled a list for you of some easy and simple tricks and treats.

Glowing Eyes

Glowing Eyes

Glowing Eyes: This is an extremely simple piece of décor to make. Using toilet paper rolls and glow sticks, you can effectively scare the daylights out of trick-or-treaters by hiding them in bushes and trees!

Bloody Handprints

Bloody Handprints: When your guests walk in, surprise them with gory red handprints marking the windows and walls. This immediately will spook anyone out, and you can do it just using a simple mix of glue and red food colouring.

Bat Silhouette Lanterns

Bat Silhouette Lanterns: A very easy way to bring out the bats is to cut silhouettes of them from black paper and tape them to your lamps/lanterns. Alternately, you can make your own lantern to fit around a bulb, and leave bat-shaped holes in it!

Monster Entrance

Monster Entrance: This takes a little bit of work, but if you plan well, can complete it in an hour. Just cut out large cardboard shapes of a monster’s eyes and teeth and colour them. Then hang them up right outside your door, so it looks like the leering creature is letting you in!

Bin Bag Webs

Bin Bag Webs: Probably the simplest of the lot. Cut up black bin bags(any colour will actually do!) in the manner directed by the photo, and then hang them up all over your house. In dim lighting, the webs look surreal and creepy, and you can do this in about 20 minutes!

So there you have it! Some simple and very easy ways of getting around all the planning for a special occasion. Just a few simple DIY steps and you’re set!
