Watch : RaagLeela Releases Music Video For Ghode
Hindi Rock band RaagLeela have released a colourful and vibrant video of their hit “Ghode”.
In 2012, a group of Delhi-graduates got together to blend elements of rock and jazz with Indian classical music. Incorporating classical into more contemporary sounds, they have made their own style of fusion. Gigging at larger venues and shows like Blue Frog and Big Gig Exclusive, they have also played at Kingdom of Dreams, headlining the battle of the bands. Inspired by the likes of Anoushka Shankar, Porcupine Tree, Karsh Kale and Prem Joshua, the six-piece band comprises of Prateek Narsimha on vocals, Sagar Chawla on the keyboards, Niloy Ghosh Dastidar on bass, Sarthak Joshi on Guitars, Sarthak Pahwa on percussion and Vaibhav Ahuja on drums. With a sincere attempt to take fusion to the masses, their latest video shows the true potential of the fusion act.
Featuring the band playing at vivid public areas, the interesting time signatures and trademark Hindustani vocals overriding the bass-drum rhythm section, “Ghode” is definitely and interesting number. The song then delves into more “space-like areas”, which is where the video starts to really speed up. Ending off with a loud typically-rock outro, the band finally has a music video out which is a great platform for them to branch out further from.
With a 10-track album in the works and several college/professional competitions under their belt, fusion music has never looked stronger as far as RaagLeela is concerned.
