Wild City Set to Launch Its App

From the coterie of people who attended the Magnetic Fields Festival in December last year at Jaipur’s Alsisar Mahal, many will identify one of the partners Wild City, and applaud the setup of the festival that emitted a vibe of a backyard chilling session without being a complete commercial sell-out; restricted to a limited audience. Wild City, besides dipping its feet in festival water, is also a website that serves news on topics that include the arts, music and culture with a spin of the alternative on it. On April 3, Wild City will release its user-friendly app that will guide the culture enthusiast through events in the city, about music that’s brewing in indie households and provide news pieces on song releases, line-up changes and new bands among other such items.

The App holds the promise of being absolutely simple to use with three main bifurcations marked on the lower end of the app (see image above) that will ensure confusion-free navigation. With the app, one doesn’t have to log into their website, which might take longer to load. The app proposes everything that Wild City stands to offer. Therefore, if one is on the move and plans to listen to endless mixes/playlists, read about the city’s events and know which gig is the hottest to attend, a subscription to the app is in order.

An in-built music player gets the music running without hindrances, saving the user the trouble of being directed to other music pages like SoundCloud. Developed by a host of young software wizards at Grappus, the app claims to possess a minimal interface by virtue of which one can manoeuvre from one option on the menu to the other.

While Apple users can heartily download the Wild City app from the day of the launch, Android users will have to wait until a specific version for it is developed. Word is out that work on the Android edition is in the pipeline. However, the app is free on the Apple App Store and compatible with an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch – it requires iOS 6.1 or later and the app is optimized for iPhone 5.
