Deepak Chopra and Poonacha Machaiah launches Jiyo for health awareness
With an aim to provide awareness to consumers on the growing stress- related complications and lifestyle diseases, wellness guru Deepak Chopra joined hands with former Nortel and Motorola executive Poonacha Machaiah to launch health and wellness startup, Jiyo.
“We see ourselves as creating a social platform, which is global, but also facilitates physical spaces that has everything to do with prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses,” Chopra told the media. “By creating these virtual experiences, you can change your biology or even change the expression of your genes,” he added.
Jiyo is described as a community-based, well-being network operating on both mobile and web platforms, helping people to acquire knowledge concerning the modern day health issues and what steps could be taken to avoid them.
The Banaglore- based startup, which launched operations earlier this month, has partnered with super-specialty hospital chain, Apollo Hospitals. It has also tied up with noted non-profit, academic medical centre, Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, and is targeting a million users within the year.
The users can also get connected to many medical, fitness and lifestyle experts, to get regualr dietray and exercise tips.
Jiyo follows a business to business model and the revenue is earned through the subscription charges According to the founders, Jiyo will provide organizations with a customized web presence to manage their employees wellness, and provide employee health risk assessments and personalized care in the form of virtual physician consults and diagnostics.
