The iPhone7 is launched and costs a bomb but we're telling you how to diffuse it.

Starting today, the Apple iPhone 7 will be officially available in India – online and offline. As usual, for various reasons including taxation, it will cost 30-40 percent more in India than in the US and other countries.

So if you have a jugadu Auntyji or Tau you’re solid but if you don’t, we’ve got a few tips on how you could hook yourself up for much less.

Pre-oders on the device had started last week on Flipkart, however, the cashback offer with Citibank expired Thursday on the website. Nevertheless, it is still offering discounts up to Rs. 24,500 in exchange for your old smartphone.

Snapdeal has partnered with American Express and Axis bank, both with offers of their own. The partnership with American Express is an exclusive cashback of Rs. 10,000. While Axis bank’s partnership is offering up to 10% off on all items on Snapdeal. The maximum discount is Rs. 5,000, so you could get it for at least that much less.

The iPhone 7/7Plus will be available on Paytm at 7 pm today and if customers buy the phone from Paytm, they will be eligible for a Rs. 7,000 cash back.

Tata CLiQ also has an offer similar to Paytm’s. Buying the iPhones from Tata CLiQ using an HDFC debit or credit card will get you a flat Rs. 10,000 deferred cashback. The offer is valid between 5th and 10th October, or until stocks last.

Neither Paytm nor Tata CLiQ have displayed the prices for the Jet Black variants of the iPhone 7/7Plus.

If you are planning to buy iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus on EMI, then you can opt for Infibeam‘s no-cost EMI plan. Under this offer, provided in partnership with CashCare, no credit card is required and there is no interest levied. Moreover, you get a Rs. 500 cash-back on the first EMI.

There are also offers on Citibank and their Credit Cards on IndiaStore, which apply to both – online and offline.

If you’re not too worried about warranty, you could buy the iPhone on eBay at a reduced price – without the warranty. Else, a considerable amount can be reduced on the price as eBay routinely sends out coupons of 7 to 10 percent off and couple it with cashback offers from banks like ICICI, HDFC, Kotak, Citibank, etc.).

If none of these suit your taste, Airtel too has launched their own set of offers starting at Rs, 19,990 – with a 12-month contract. The offer gives iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users 10 GB free 4G/3G data per month for one year with any Airtel Infinity postpaid plan, in addition to plan benefits.
