Hans Zimmer Composes for Tomorrowland Festival
There is no denying the role that background scores have played in providing superhero movies with a push that deposits the film into a complete-loss-of-reality realm, as we analysed in February (read here). Especially with German film music composer Hans Zimmer, one can pre-emptively associate his work with the legendary Batman Series and Man of Steel. Most recently, Hans Zimmer announced that he is working on a track that explores a new avenue for him – composing a theme song for the Belgian EDM festival Tomorrowland, which draws one of the world’s largest crowds to its grounds.
The theme song, or popularly known as the ‘Tomorrowland Hymn’, marks the 10th anniversary of the festival. The song tries to capture magical elements that the festival displays and will serve as the recurring soundtrack for the festival for future editions to come. In a public statement, Zimmer said, “… The hymn is about bringing different cultures together. All the things that make us different are actually the things we should be celebrating.” The hymn will be unveiled on the opening day of the festival on July 18.
