Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Gets Digital Release Date: Here’s When You Can Watch

Fans of Tom Cruise’s iconic superspy Ethan Hunt won’t have to wait much longer to bring the explosive finale of the Mission: Impossible saga home. Paramount Pictures has officially announced that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be available to purchase digitally on August 19, 2025, via platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.

While no Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning digital rental date has been confirmed yet, early buyers will gain access to a treasure trove of bonus content — including behind-the-scenes stunt breakdowns, exclusive cast and crew commentary, deleted scenes, and an in-depth conversation with Cruise and returning director Christopher McQuarrie.

A High-Stakes Finale for Ethan Hunt

The eighth film in the beloved franchise picks up mere months after its predecessor, plunging Ethan Hunt into his most dangerous mission yet: stopping “The Entity,” a rogue artificial intelligence threatening global annihilation. The deadly AI’s source code lies hidden aboard a sunken Russian submarine in the Bering Sea — and Ethan holds the only key to access it.

Home Media Release Dates

For collectors, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 14, 2025.

Meanwhile, the first seven Mission: Impossible films — along with the original 1960s-70s TV series — are currently streaming on Paramount+, offering fans the perfect way to catch up before watching Hunt’s final mission.

This release marks the culmination of a 29-year film journey that began in 1996. Over nearly three decades, Tom Cruise’s portrayal of Ethan Hunt has become synonymous with blockbuster spectacle, redefining action cinema with each chapter. Whether The Final Reckoning truly marks the end remains to be seen — but for now, this digital drop is one of 2025’s most anticipated home releases.
