Def Leppard Announce First-Ever India Tour in March 2026: Shillong, Mumbai & Bengaluru Confirmed
In a milestone moment for Indian rock fans, the legendary British rock band Def Leppard has announced a three-city tour in India in March 2026. Produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the tour forms part of the prestigious Bandland on Tour concert series and marks the band’s long-awaited debut on Indian soil—nearly five decades after their formation.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will kick off their India run on March 25, 2026, at JLN Stadium (Polo Grounds), Shillong, followed by a performance at Jio World Garden, Mumbai, on March 27, and concluding at the NICE Grounds, Bengaluru, on March 29.
A Debut Nearly 50 Years in the Making
Def Leppard—featuring vocalist Joe Elliott, guitarist Phil Collen, bassist Rick Savage, guitarist Vivian Campbell, and drummer Rick Allen—took to Instagram to confirm the tour. The band said, “This one’s been a long time comin’ – Very excited to announce three new shows in India this Spring.”
The announcement has electrified the Indian music community, especially since a planned tour of India in 2008 was abruptly cancelled, reportedly due to security concerns. Fans have waited nearly two decades for Def Leppard to return to the idea—and this time, the shows are happening.
A Legacy of Arena Rock Power
With over 110 million albums sold worldwide, Def Leppard remains one of the greatest rock bands of all time. They are the only band in history to have two Diamond-certified albums in the U.S.: Hysteria (14x Platinum) and Pyromania (11x Platinum).
The group is beloved worldwide for iconic hits including “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Rock of Ages,” “Love Bites,” “Animal,” and “Photograph.”
They have released music continuously since the 1970s and are currently working on a new studio album, slated for 2026.
Earlier this year, the band also dropped a new single, “Just Like 73,” featuring guitar legend Tom Morello, who himself is set to make his India debut later this month.
