TiECon 2016 comes up with new track to drive collaboration between Silicon Valley and Indian markets

The eagerly awaited TiECon 2016 conference, which is scheduled for May 6 – 7 this year at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California, is all set to have a dedicated track called “Destination India” that will help drive collaboration between Silicon Valley and the fast growing markets in India.

The objective is to create a bridge between Indian and non-Indian companies by encouraging domestic and multi-national companies to innovate and manufacture their products in India. TiECon is organized by TiE Silicon Valley, a not for profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Bay Area and globally.

Manish Gupta, Board Member, TiE Silicon Valley, said, “New engagement opportunities created by tracks like Destination India attract participation from Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and investors alike.”

‘Destination India’ maps to the “Make in India” initiative of the Government of India and is expected to open significant market opportunities driving innovation and investment in India.

“Platforms like TiEcon can have a tremendous impact in informing and influencing US companies to actively participate in Make in India initiative and build their products and businesses in the hottest startup market of the world today,” said Shradha Sharma, founder and CEO, YourStory.

The TiEcon platform is facilitating two-way opportunities between entrepreneurs and corporations through its VC connect program. It will help entrepreneurs connect with multiple venture capitalists in just one hour. Each personal five-minute meeting will allow for a brief introduction between the entrepreneur and the VC, gauge interest, arrange follow-up meetings, and accelerate the overall process.

The elite milieu of speakers to grace the TiECon 2016 include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi, Diane Green of Google, Jay Parikh, Head of Engineering, Facebook and Lorie Wigle of Intel among others.
