[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter the exam break ends and before the summer vacations begin, there is a brief moment that either exhilarates a student with joy or disappoints them with frustration. It is the result day, and the first wave is scheduled to be experienced by the ICSE examinees as it comes out on Friday.

It is time for the students to fetch the fruits they have worked so hard. Unfortunately, many students don’t handle the bad outcomes well. Unexpected results, which are a common thing, have on many occasions found students resorting to panic and bad decisions.

There are many ways to deal with bad situations and in fact channelize the result into positive outcomes in future. The approach has to be different for the class 12 and class 10 students, as the next step would be very different for the students, which is extremely crucial.

While the class 10 students still have window to work hard and come back stronger in the next big stage a year after, the class 12 students don’t get that luxury. Furthermore, if you’re really confident about your exam, just go for evaluation of scripts. Chances are you will get what you deserve.

A bad result could be a really difficult few days. Relatives would call and ask about the result and parents would prick you by comparing with the boy next door. Life moves on and so should you. It cannot be undone. What can be done is keeping cool and taking the next decision sanely. One bad result will not certainly define you.

The mind plays a very important role in these situations, which is to a lot extent dependent on the environment in the home. Over-thinking leads to deadly consequences, which mostly come from parents’ reaction.
