Star Power Fuels EV Disruption as Suniel Shetty, KL Rahul, and Ahan Back Ebike Brand Exelmoto
Suniel Shetty, cricketer KL Rahul, and actor Ahan Shetty have teamed up with automotive designer and entrepreneur Akshai Varde to launch Exelmoto—a homegrown e-mobility brand aiming to revolutionize last-mile transportation with its rugged, stylish, and license-free Ebikes. Pre-orders for Exelmoto’s debut models—E1X Sky and E2R Rosso—go live June 28.
What Makes Exelmoto a Category Breaker?
Unlike conventional e-scooters, Exelmoto’s two unisex Ebikes promise to blend motorcycle-inspired aesthetics with the agility of a cycle. Featuring pedal assist, a 40–60 km range, fat-tyre styling, and lightweight frames, they are designed for India’s bustling roads—and for a new generation of eco-conscious commuters.
With a price tag under ₹42,000, Exelmoto also offers one of the lowest cost-per-kilometre in its segment. Additionally, no license or registration is required, making it especially appealing to students, delivery professionals, and everyday riders in urban and semi-urban areas of India.
Founder Akshai Varde, known for his custom motorcycle designs, has brought his vision to life with Exelmoto. His personal rapport with Suniel Shetty, dating back to bespoke bike builds for the Shetty family, cemented trust and inspired a strategic partnership. “Akshai’s design genius is undeniable. Exelmoto is a statement about our environment, our future, and our pride in building for India,” said Suniel Shetty. “This is personal. It’s the first project where Ahan, KL Rahul, and I are building something together for a better tomorrow.”

KL Rahul, with his brand of focused performance, echoed the sentiment: “This is for hustlers who want performance and purpose in one ride. It’s electric, it’s efficient, and it’s exciting.”
Ahan Shetty, speaking to Gen Z riders, added: “Exelmoto is for the bold and planet-conscious. It reflects who we are and where we’re going.”

Expansion Plans and Roadmap
Following the launch, Exelmoto will establish a nationwide dealership and service network, initially covering 12 major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad. The launch campaign—“Ride the Future”—leans on influencer storytelling, on-ground test rides, and digital-first activation to build a loyal rider community. “This isn’t just a vehicle—it’s a movement,” said Akshai Varde, CEO. “We’re building for India, from India. We’re ready before the world catches on.”
