Ranbir Kapoor Unveiled as Lord Rama in ‘Ramayana’ Trailer
Ramayana has finally revealed its much-awaited trailer, giving audiences a powerful first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. Released on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the teaser has already sparked widespread excitement across India and beyond.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film promises to be one of the most ambitious cinematic adaptations of the ancient epic ever attempted.
A Stellar Cast Brings the Epic to Life
The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, while Yash takes on the role of Ravana.
Other notable cast members include Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari. Rakul Preet Singh portrays Surpanakha, with appearances from Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, and others.
A Global-Scale Production
Produced by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is mounted on a staggering budget of approximately $500 million.
Adding to the global appeal, the film’s music is composed by two legendary names, Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman, marking a rare collaboration between international and Indian musical maestros.
The project will be released in two parts, with Part 1 arriving during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 slated for Diwali 2027. Both installments are being shot for IMAX, underscoring the film’s cinematic scale.
Revisiting an Ancient Epic
The story draws from the Ramayana, traditionally attributed to the sage Valmiki. It follows Prince Rama’s exile, the abduction of Sita by Ravana, and the eventual battle between good and evil.
Part 1 is expected to culminate with Sita’s abduction, while Part 2 will focus on Rama’s quest to rescue her and defeat Ravana.
