Sophie Turner Leads a Billion-Pound Heist in Prime Video’s ‘Steal’ Trailer
Sophie Turner steps into dangerous new territory in the official trailer for Prime Video’s upcoming heist thriller, Steal. Best known worldwide for her Emmy-nominated turn on Game of Thrones, Turner headlines the six-episode series as Zara, an ordinary office worker whose monotonous desk job spirals into chaos when violent criminals storm her workplace.
The Steal trailer opens with deceptive normalcy. Zara heads into the office, joking about the secret to surviving corporate life—“not dying of boredom.” Moments later, that routine shatters as a gang of thieves breaks into Lochmill Capital, a pension fund investment firm, and forces Zara and her best friend Luke (Archie Madekwe) to help execute a meticulously planned crime involving billions of pounds in ordinary people’s pensions.
A workplace hostage crisis with global stakes
Steal explores the unsettling question: who would steal pensions—and why? As Zara and Luke are coerced into carrying out the thieves’ demands, the story expands beyond a simple hostage scenario into a far-reaching financial conspiracy.
Running parallel to the heist is the investigation led by DCI Rhys, played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (Bodies). Rhys is a driven detective grappling with his own demons, including a relapse-prone gambling addiction that mirrors the financial desperation at the heart of the crime. The trailer teases a tense cat-and-mouse game where personal failings, secret agendas, and competing interests collide.
Sophie Turner’s bold post–‘Game of Thrones’ era
Steal continues Spohie Turner’s momentum following recent roles in the 2025 thriller Trust and the 2024 miniseries Joan. The series positions her firmly in the modern thriller space, trading medieval fantasy for a contemporary, high-pressure narrative rooted in financial crime and moral ambiguity.
Archie Madekwe (Saltburn) brings nervous energy and emotional depth as Luke, while Fortune-Lloyd adds complexity to the law-enforcement side of the story. Together, the cast grounds the spectacle of the heist in character-driven tension.

When and where to watch ‘Steal’
All six episodes of Steal will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on January 21, allowing viewers to binge the entire heist from start to finish. With its blend of workplace tension, financial intrigue, and emotional stakes, the series is shaping up to be one of Prime Video’s must-watch thrillers of the month.
