Netflix has officially kicked off production on Grown Ups 3, confirming the return of Adam Sandler and much of the original ensemble that made the comedy franchise a global box office success. The streaming platform unveiled the extensive cast alongside a production photo, signaling the start of filming in New Jersey.
The third installment reunites several fan-favorite stars while introducing a fresh generation of characters, marking the next chapter in one of Sandler’s most recognizable comedy franchises.
Original Cast Returns

Netflix also confirmed that longtime Happy Madison collaborators Jackie Sandler, Shaquille O’Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne and Nick Swardson will return for the sequel.
The announcement was accompanied by a cast photograph featuring the ensemble gathered around an elegant dining table. Sandler later shared the image on social media with a brief message celebrating the reunion: “We missed you!”

The upcoming sequel expands its ensemble with several newcomers, including Julie Bowen, Deon Cole and Bailee Madison.
Additional cast members joining the franchise include Jake Goldberg, Alexys Nycole Sanchez, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Ada-Nicole Sanger, Morgan Gingerich, Kaleo Elam, Nadji Jeter, David Mattle and Kamil McFadden.

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the sequel shifts its focus from raising children to rediscovering friendship and adventure.
The logline reads: “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”
While plot details remain under wraps, the premise indicates the film will follow the longtime friends as they embrace newfound freedom after years of family responsibilities.
The original Grown Ups centered on five childhood friends reuniting following the death of their former basketball coach, while its sequel explored the chaos of suburban family life. The third chapter appears poised to take the characters into a new stage of adulthood.
Kyle Newacheck Returns to Direct
Directing duties are being handled by Kyle Newacheck, who previously worked with Sandler on Netflix’s successful Happy Gilmore 2.
The screenplay has been written by Adam Sandler alongside longtime collaborator Tim Herlihy, whose partnership has produced several of Happy Madison Productions’ most successful comedies.
The film is being produced through Happy Madison in partnership with Sony Pictures, with Adam Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Tim Herlihy serving as producers.
Several executive producers are also attached to the project, including Fred Wolf, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, Jackie Shenoo, Aidan Elliott, Kristen Ploucha and Sarah Sarandos.
