Josh Talks raises funds from top executive angel investors at HCL, Hero, Lenskart, Freshworks and more

The startup is looking to branch into vernacular languages of Telegu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and Bhojpuri.

Josh Talks is a startup that aims to create an India where every young individual has a sense of purpose. Using story telling as a tool, they produce video content to inspire and drive positive action in your own life. The organisation has recently raised an undisclosed amount of funding from a number of prominent angel investors including – Mr. Apurva Chamaria, Global Brand Director , HCL, Mr. Girish Mathrubootham – Founder, Freshworks and Mr. Rohit Chanana, Head, Strategy & Finance – Hero Corporation to name a few.

Josh Talks started in 2015 by Shobhit Banga and Supriya Paul, both aged twenty one at the time, with a simple mission to raise the aspirations of young India. In about two years time they have scaled their conferences to over 25 cities in India and reached out to more than 65000 attendees on ground and 25Million+ viewers online. Josh Talks content is now available to watch on Youtube, Facebook, JIO Chat, Dekkho, YuppTv, Uber, Scoopwhoop & more. The company has also recently launched a Podcast.

Speaking about the funding, Shobhit Banga, Co-founder of Josh Talks, said, “The last two years have been a proof of concept for us and the money we have raised now is to scale our content and take it to larger audiences and people all across India.”



Looking to branch into vernacular languages of Telegu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and Bhojpuri, the fundraise was a medium to get strategic mentors and advisors on board who can help launch and scale it.

Supriya Paul Co-Founder added, “Our target audience comprises of 16-25 year olds in Tier 2, Tier 3 & Tier 4 cities – who are completely unexposed and don’t know what the world has to offer. The funding and guidance from the investors will help us launch in vernacular languages and create an impact among this audience.”

Girish Mathrubootham, Founder, Freshworks said, “In today’s fast-paced life, young people often lose track of what is important and we need a platform like Josh Talks to remind them. Everybody needs heroes they can relate to. Being a diverse country with many languages we need to reach the Indian youth present in every nook and corner, so going into vernaculars is a no-brainer and I am convinced Josh Talks is the right team for that job.”

Josh Talks, has recently partnered with the largest social networking service provider, Facebook to launch a campaign #StartAb to inspire 1,00,000 young individuals to take up entrepreneurship by April 2018.
