Metro Boomin’s Rape Lawsuit Officially Headed to Trial After Failed Settlement Talks
Famed Atlanta-based music producer Metro Boomin will face a federal trial in Los Angeles this fall after settlement talks in a 2024 civil rape lawsuit ended without resolution. The case, filed by Vanessa LeMaistre, alleges that Metro Boomin (born Leland Tyler Wayne) sexually assaulted and impregnated her in 2016.
Allegations and Timeline
According to court documents, Vanessa LeMaistre claims she met Metro Boomin in 2016 and was invited to his studio. She alleges that during the visit, she consumed Xanax and alcohol, later waking up “completely unable to move or make a sound” as Metro allegedly raped her.
Vanessa LeMaistre further alleges that she became pregnant as a result of the assault. The lawsuit also references lyrics from Metro Boomin’s 2017 track Rap Saved Me—performed by 21 Savage, Offset, and Quavo—as indirect corroboration. The specific line cited is: “She took a Xanny, then she fainted… have my baby.”
Metro Boomin has denied both the assault and any involvement in writing those lyrics, noting they were delivered by the featured rappers.
Failed Settlement Negotiations
Following the lawsuit’s filing in 2024, both parties entered settlement talks in an attempt to avoid trial. A mediation session in July 2025 with a retired judge failed to yield an agreement.
A joint status report states: “After the mediation, the parties have continued limited settlement discussions, which have proven unsuccessful. The parties are currently preparing the matter for trial.”
The trial is scheduled to begin on September 23, 2025.
Metro Boomin’s Response
Metro Boomin has categorically denied the allegations. His legal team has characterized the lawsuit as a “pure shakedown,” asserting that the claims are false and damaging to his reputation.
The producer, known for his chart-topping collaborations with artists like Drake, Future, and Travis Scott, has not made extensive public comments beyond his legal filings.
Career Moves Amid Legal Turmoil
The Rape trial lawsuit coincides with the rollout of Metro Boomin’s latest album, Metro Boomin Presents: A Futuristic Summa (Hosted by DJ Spinz), released on August 1, 2025. The two-disc project features appearances from 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Young Dro, Quavo, Travis Porter, Lil Baby, and more.

To celebrate the release, Metro hosted a nostalgic Y2K-themed party at a skating rink, drawing notable industry names and fans. Despite the legal storm, his music remains a dominant force in hip-hop streaming charts.
The trial is expected to draw significant media attention given Metro Boomin’s high profile and the nature of the allegations. Both sides are preparing for what could be a contentious courtroom battle, with witness testimony, cross-examinations, and potential new evidence set to come to light.
As the September trial date approaches, the case underscores the ongoing intersection of celebrity, accountability, and the music industry.
