FanCode to Stream Formula 1 in India Till 2028 Under New Three-Year Deal

Indian Formula 1 fans have reason to celebrate. FanCode has renewed its broadcast partnership with Formula 1, extending its streaming rights in India until the end of the 2028 season. The new three-year agreement cements FanCode’s position as the official digital home of Formula 1 in India, building on its earlier two-year deal covering the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

The renewal reflects Formula 1’s surging popularity in the country and FanCode’s growing role as a leading sports streaming platform in the region.

What the New FanCode–F1 Deal Includes

Under the renewed agreement, FanCode will continue to stream every Formula 1 race weekend in full, including:

  • Free practice sessions

  • Qualifying rounds

  • Sprint races

  • Grand Prix race days

For Indian viewers, the biggest upgrade is seamless access to F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Premium subscriptions directly via FanCode, unlocking Formula 1’s complete content library, onboard cameras, team radios, data feeds, and replays.

This integration is aimed at delivering a more immersive and flexible viewing experience for both hardcore motorsport fans and new audiences discovering the sport.

Regional Commentary and New Fan Experiences

To widen Formula 1’s appeal, FanCode has introduced regional commentary in Tamil and Hindi, making race coverage more accessible across India. The platform has also launched Gearbox, a motorsports-focused podcast featuring Indian creators, and partnered with local F1 fan communities to host special screenings and watch parties.

FanCode has confirmed that more product-led innovations and interactive features are in the pipeline as it continues to invest in motorsports coverage.

Formula 1’s Explosive Growth in India

Formula 1’s fanbase in India has expanded rapidly in recent years. According to industry data, the country now boasts nearly 80 million F1 fans, marking growth of over 40% since 2022. The sport’s appeal has surged among Gen Z viewers and female audiences, driven by social media engagement, streaming accessibility, and pop culture crossovers.

The momentum was further boosted by the recent Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt, which emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood release in India, highlighting F1’s mainstream crossover appeal.

Expanded Rights Across South Asia

In addition to India, FanCode will also hold Formula 1 broadcast rights in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. However, F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Premium subscriptions in these markets will continue to be sold directly by Formula 1.

Looking Ahead: A Transformational Era for F1

The extended partnership comes at a pivotal moment for Formula 1. The 2026 season, set to begin on March 5 in Melbourne, will introduce sweeping changes including new technical regulations, sustainable fuels, lighter cars, and the debut of the Cadillac F1 team, expanding the grid to 22 cars.

With FanCode securing long-term rights, Indian fans are well-positioned to experience Formula 1’s next era—uninterrupted, localized, and more immersive than ever.
