Ferrari Targets Red Bull Boss Christian Horner in Sensational F1 Power Move

In what could be one of the most explosive team shake-ups in modern Formula 1 history, Ferrari has reportedly made a bold attempt to lure Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner to Maranello. If successful, the move would unite Horner with newly signed Lewis Hamilton and star driver Charles Leclerc, creating a powerhouse trio that could redefine the Scuderia’s F1 future.

According to Bild, a reputable German publication, Ferrari approached Christian Horner following a turbulent start to their 2025 season. After narrowly missing the Constructors’ Championship by just 17 points last year, the Italian giants now sit fourth, behind Mercedes and visibly struggling to find their rhythm.

While Ferrari has recently shown flashes of brilliance—Charles Leclerc secured a P2 finish in Monaco and Lewis Hamilton bounced back from a grid penalty to finish P5—the overall campaign has been inconsistent. With Red Bull’s long-time leader Christian Horner being the longest-serving and one of the most successful team principals in F1, his potential switch would be seismic.

Can Horner Be Ferrari’s Missing Piece?

Christian Horner has built Red Bull into a Formula 1 dynasty, steering the team to multiple world championships with drivers such as Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Ferrari, desperate for a return to dominance, may believe Horner is the leadership figure needed to stabilise and energise their efforts, especially with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the helm.

This rumoured interest also signals possible dissatisfaction with current team boss Fred Vasseur. While Vasseur dismissed rumours of tension, particularly after an awkward radio silence between Lewis Hamilton and his engineer in Monaco, the optics haven’t helped. Lewis Hamilton, frustrated mid-race after receiving no timing updates from his engineer Riccardo Adami, questioned whether his team was upset with him. Vasseur chalked it up to timing protocols and assured fans that there is no internal discord.

Still, Ferrari’s search for results appears to be escalating. Bringing Christian Horner aboard would be more than just a strategic move—it would be a statement of intent to reclaim the top spot in Formula 1.

Spanish Grand Prix Looms: A New Chapter for Ferrari?

As Ferrari prepares for the Spanish Grand Prix, all eyes will be on whether Lewis Hamilton can finally deliver the team’s first Barcelona win since 2013. Historically, this track has been dominated by either Hamilton or Max Verstappen, and a strong showing from the British driver could ease the pressure on the Scuderia, at least temporarily.

Whether or not Christian Horner trades in Red Bull blue for Ferrari red remains to be seen, but the very idea is enough to send shockwaves through the F1 paddock.
