Make up your mind : Rajdeep Sardesai’s contradictory tweets
PM Narendra Modi’s efforts in aiding the victims of Nepal’s tragic earthquake has generated praise on Twitter with the hashtag #ThankYouPM trending all over. Mr. Modi responded courteously by thanking everyone who is being a part of the relief aid.
To all those saying #ThankYouPM– appreciate the sentiment…real thanks should be to our great culture, which teaches us ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’.

Mention must be made of the media. They are bravely covering the disaster from the ground. Thanks! — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) April 27, 2015
The immense co-operation between Centre & the States is a major asset in times like these. A big thanks to all State Governments.

We owe a big thanks to the enthusiastic youngsters who are mobilising contributions for relief work be it cash, resources & medicines etc. — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) April 27, 2015
All said and done, in the midst arrives journalist Rajdeep Sardesai who gives his two cents about the ongoings. While he initially tweeted about #ThankYouPM being an apt sign of appreciation, Sardesai quickly turned sides by suddenly questioning the importance of the trending hashtag itself. Confused? Have a look below:
@narendramodi and @PMOIndia deserve A plus for speed of response to quake. Which is why we should say #ThankYouPM

Why is the top trend #ThankYouPM ? This story is first about Nepal and it’s grieving people, isn’t it? #NepalQuake — Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) April 27, 2015
It seems that Mr.Sardesai is in quite a fix to decide whether to support the PM’s efforts or to disregard him. Twitter users took this opportunity to make the famed journalist a target for cheeky retorts.
@sardesairajdeep Apply some Burnol..It gives instant relief

@sardesairajdeep You people have a camera hugging job but no class. You won’t understand. It’s direct between people & PM. #ThankYouPM

One can say that Mr. Sardesai sure knows how to keep the limelight to himself. It seems like last year’s attack on him at Madison Square Garden may have affected him a bit too much.
One twitter user even used this opportunity to say :
@sardesairajdeep I just want kick ur ass for 100 times. Just like u got at Madison Square in U.S. Want repeat it again?

Though the presence of media in helping the Nepal earthquake victims is important, noted individuals must aim at speaking about the bigger picture – about the people in need, rather than focussing on petty issues like these.
