Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2: New Playlists, Custom Search, and Start Time Revealed
Following the blockbuster success of Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 1—which drew over half a million concurrent players on Steam—developer DICE has confirmed exciting updates for Weekend 2, including playlist changes, a new Custom Search feature, and a confirmed start time. Weekend 2 begins Thursday, August 14, at 8 am UTC (1am PT) and runs until Sunday, August 17.
Playlist Changes Bring More Variety
In a blog post, DICE revealed that the All-Out Warfare playlist will now feature a rotating mix of Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush game modes. This rotation is designed specifically for the beta to test player preferences and gather feedback before the October launch.
“During Battlefield 6 Open Beta Week 2, we’re delivering more variety and choice for how you’d like to play,” DICE stated. “Rotating through multiple modes helps us understand what our community enjoys and keeps more fan-favorite modes available at the same time.”

Custom Search: Player Choice, Not Server Browser
Responding to community feedback, DICE is introducing Custom Search for Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2. This feature lets players choose preferred map and mode combinations—such as Conquest on Siege of Cairo—and matchmaking will attempt to prioritize that selection.
However, DICE clarified that this is not a full Server Browser, which some fans are still requesting, and will only be available for Open Weapon mode playlists during the beta.
A Bigger Weekend Ahead?
With Battlefield 6’s first Open Beta weekend setting impressive records, all eyes are on whether Weekend 2 can surpass the player peak. The early buzz, combined with the playlist variety and custom search tools, suggests a strong turnout is likely.
PC players should note that Secure Boot must be enabled before jumping in.
