In recent times we have seen many stars from the sports world turn into entrepreneurs with various ventures and collaborations. Cricketing star Virat Kohli joins the list by launching his own startup Stepathlon Kids.
Stepathlon Kids is a joint venture with Stepathlon Lifestyle and will work with children to address fitness issues. The startup will take children through a 30-day pedometer-based virtual race that will help increase awareness on health issues. The startup is aiming at reaching 50,000 children in its first operational year and is looking to generate revenues from a combination of sponsorship, partnerships, licensing and merchandising for the medium to long term according to Ravi Krishnan, CEO, Stepathlon Lifestyle.
At a time when the fitness industry continues to grow Virat Kohli has made other investments in the fitness sector as well such as Rs 90 crore in Bangalore based Chisel Fitness.
