ShopClues partners with GoDaddy to expand global identity

In a strategic move that would drive potential customer web traffic directly to their page and at the same time build their online identity and brand, ShopClues has partnered with GoDaddy, which will be providing it with a distinct domain name.

ShopClues has over 400,000 merchants or small businesses listed on its marketplace, and ships more than 3.5 million items every month across all product categories. This move puts the ShopClues merchants in good advantage.

The ability to drive traffic to their specific page using a short and memorable URL presents SMBs with the ability to offer promotions and better target its customers with their own website address via a link as the ‘call-to-action’.

Sanjay Sethi, co-founder, and CEO of Shopclues said, “As India’s first and largest managed marketplace, our focus is to enhance our merchants’ visibility on the Internet and facilitate their growth. Our partnership with GoDaddy will help empower our seller base of over 400,000 merchants, in building a unique brand image while still enjoying the benefits of being enlisted on our platform that gives them support, credibility and access to millions of customers across the country.”

To register for a new domain name, customers can visit ‘Domains’ on GoDaddy. The customer gives GoDaddy the URL they would like to point their domain name to, during the checkout process, and GoDaddy takes care of the rest.

Rajiv Sodhi, Vice President and Managing Director, GoDaddy India and Australia, said, “More and more small businesses are coming online to tap the huge e-commerce opportunity. Small businesses selling their products through e-commerce platforms often get lost in the huge marketplace with thousands of listed sellers.”

“This partnership will provide its merchants with an online address that represents their individual brand and is easy to identify for their customers. You can connect your domain name to an online marketplace and consolidate your online presence with your unique online address,” added Sodhi.

For those who already have a domain name, GoDaddy helps them to quickly connect them to any website or blog or to other pages they control, like Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube profile pages. With more than 14 million customers worldwide and over 62 million domain names under management, GoDaddy gives small business owners the tools to name their idea, build a beautiful online presence, attract customers and manage their business.

GoDaddy’s mission is to radically shift the global economy toward small businesses by empowering people to easily start, confidently grow and successfully run their own ventures. Headquartered in Scottsdale, USA, GoDaddy also has offices across other locations including in Washington, Massachusetts, Iowa and California in the U.S., and international locations in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore and in the U.K.
