GST e-learning kit from ClearTax launched to assist professionals and businesses with smooth transition

The Goods and Service Tax (GST) is set to be rolled out from July onwards and with this the taxation landscape in India will be undergoing a sea of changes, specifically in the indirect taxation sector. To prepare for the impact it will have on businesses, ClearTax launched its GST e-learning kit which will educate the business community and make over 2.5 lakh CAs and Tax Return Preparers GST-ready and help them serve over 1 crore businesses.

Commenting on the launch of the course, Archit Gupta, Founder & CEO, ClearTax  said, “The implementation of GST will create a level-playing field for chartered accountants across the country. It presents a unique business opportunity for those well-versed with the system to take the lead and help businesses migrate to the new tax regime.”

The e-learning modules that ClearTax’s GST training will include are include10 hours of high quality videos, 20+ real world examples to study implications, 50+ online webinars, 20+ quizzes to practice concepts, and 100+presentations and articles on GST. The course content has been created by ClearTax in collaboration with indirect tax experts and will give an online certification exam after a 3-week long course and will be required at least 70% to pass. Upon passing, trainees will receive a GST certification to qualify them as as official GST-compliant accountants and auditors.

Mr. Gupta adds, “ClearTax’s GST kit for CAs is an all-in-one package with a comprehensive and structured training and will equip them with the best software for end-to-end GST compliance and online CA profiling to help grow their practice following the GST roll-out.”

Businesses will be required to file a minimum of 37 GST returns in a financial year when the new tax system is put in place. Along with tech support, ClearTax is looking to provide end-to-end support and solutions to make the filing processes quicker and more efficient. Using the software, chartered accountants can migrate their clients’ business accounts to the platform, pull data from old software platforms and get them GST ready. The real-time collaboration with clients will help CAs view the status of pending returns, credits etc.
