Kim Kardashian’s ‘All’s Fair’ Declared a Disaster by Critics: “Fascinatingly, Existentially Terrible”

Hollywood has done it again — and not in a good way. Ryan Murphy’s latest drama All’s Fair, starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, and Niecy Nash, has been eviscerated by critics across major outlets. What should have been a glossy, empowering legal drama about high-powered women running a divorce law firm in Los Angeles has instead been branded “fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible.”

The show, which premiered on Disney+ and Hulu, follows Allura Grant (Kardashian), Liberty Ronson (Watts), and Emerald Greene (Nash) as they take on wealthy clients and scandalous divorces under the California sun. But despite its A-list ensemble — and cameos from Glenn Close and Sarah PaulsonAll’s Fair has become the latest cautionary tale of star power gone wrong.

“Worse Than a Local Christmas Pageant”

According to The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan, All’s Fair is “so awful it feels almost contemptuous,” citing awkward performances, incoherent writing, and dialogue so bad it’s “hard to believe anyone approved the script.” Sample lines include “My flight was turbulent and so is my mood,” and “Let’s put the ‘team’ in ‘teamwork.’”

Meanwhile, USA Today’s Kelly Lawler was even harsher, calling the show “an unmitigated disaster” and “the worst TV show of the year.” She described Kardashian’s performance as “expressionless” and “so detached it feels like watching through a telescope.”

Even the show’s veteran actors haven’t escaped criticism. Naomi Watts, Lawler wrote, “sleepwalks through her scenes,” while Nash is “reduced to yet another Loud and Sassy caricature.”

From Empowerment to Embarrassment

Despite its premise — an all-female firm taking on powerful men in high-stakes divorces — All’s Fair is being slammed for turning female empowerment into an empty spectacle. “Its concept of empowerment would have shamed the Spice Girls 30 years ago,” Mangan quipped.

The show’s excessive focus on wealth, fashion, and luxury — think Birkin bags, Goyard suitcases, and name-dropping Elizabeth Taylor — only adds to what critics see as a tone-deaf fantasy of privilege, rather than a sharp feminist satire.

A Rare Miss for Ryan Murphy

Known for hits like Glee, American Horror Story, and Feud, Ryan Murphy’s track record with star-studded melodrama is legendary. But All’s Fair may go down as one of his most spectacular misfires.

Even hate-watchers have struggled to find amusement in the show’s chaos. “It’s not even fun-bad,” wrote Lawler. “It’s just lazy, soulless, and weirdly expensive-looking.”

Streaming Now — But Should You?

Despite the uproar, All’s Fair is available to stream now on Disney+ and Hulu, for anyone brave enough to see how bad TV can truly get.

As one critic summed up: “If this was meant to be camp, it missed the memo. It’s not All’s Fair — it’s All’s Fail.”
