The most anticipated awards of the evening reflected both critical acclaim and cultural impact. Billie Eilish secured Song of the Year for “Wildflower,” while Kendrick Lamar featuring SZA claimed Record of the Year with “Luther,” marking another milestone in Kendrick’s award-winning career.
The coveted Album of the Year went to Bad Bunny for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, reinforcing his global influence and dominance across multiple categories. Rising British singer Olivia Dean earned Best New Artist, solidifying her breakout moment on music’s biggest stage.
Pop, Dance and Global Sounds Shine
Pop music had a powerful showing, with Lady Gaga winning Best Pop Vocal Album for Mayhem and Best Dance/Pop Recording for “Abracadabra.” Lola Young impressed voters by winning Best Pop Solo Performance for “Messy.”
In electronic music, Tame Impala won Best Dance/Electronic Recording, while FKA Twigs claimed Best Dance/Electronic Album with Eusexua. Latin music remained a Grammy stronghold as Natalia Lafourcade and Bad Bunny took top honours in Latin pop and música urbana categories.
Kendrick Lamar Dominates Rap Categories
Rap was firmly led by Kendrick Lamar, who won Best Rap Album for GNX, Best Rap Song for “TV Off,” and Best Melodic Rap Performance with SZA for “Luther.” The wins highlighted Kendrick’s continued relevance and lyrical influence in contemporary hip-hop.
Rock, Alternative and Metal Highlights
Rock fans saw major wins from Turnstile, who earned Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance. Nine Inch Nails took home Best Rock Song, while The Cure dominated alternative categories, winning both Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.
