Watch: Coshish Release 2 Music Videos
Mid February, we released a list of indie music videos that were remarkably executed in all of last year (read here). Progressive rock band Coshish’s single “Raastey” featured in the list for its macabre portrayal of a boy trying to find a mystical element of his past in the present. Yesterday, on March 19, the band released music videos for two of their older singles “Bhula Do Unhey” and “Hum Hai Yahin” from their debut album Firdous, latter of which has been shot using a Nokia Lumia phone (read on Nokia’s internet radio here).
Interestingly, “Bhula Do Unhey”, like the earlier video of “Raastey”, carries a tinge of retrograde post-production with heaps of foregrounded visuals that gives out a message that ‘forgetting is better than suffering the loss of a loved one’. The first thing that comes to mind is Metallica’s “The Unforgiven”. Whereas “Hum Hai Yahin” is a studio-shot video of the band in action donning sharp suits with no story to tell. Bet is that the former song’s video will attract more applause (like metaller Sahil Makhija’s response) than the latter’s video. The band’s album Firdous was released on Universal Music India Pvt. Ltd in 2013 (Midhaven are signed to Universal this time, read).
