“Shell Broken Hell Loose”, the first single off metal giantsZygnema’s second album, is a gargantuan track of heavy riffs and deep growls. Yet for all the noise, the unrivalled sound quality makes it the single to watch out for this month in the metal scene. Having played in Sweden, Dubai, Germany, Bangkok and other international venues, this Mumbai-based thrash/power metal group has been a favourite on the national circuit for years. Founded in 2006, their 2010 album Born of Unity contains a lot of social messages and political statements that have been scrapped in the second album, which plans to go through a more thorough and comprehensive recording and mastering process than the first album. The band sees a new bassist, Leon Quadros, recording. A song called “Endangered” will also feature on the new record as it was an outtake of their earlier album. With a hopeful launch date in July and eight songs already tracked, album number 2 is looking good for Zygnema.
