The India-Israel Innovation Bridge is good news for startups in agriculture, water and digital health

Calling on Indian and Israeli startups to collaborate for solutions to critical challenges faced around the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart – Benjamin Netanyahu – launched a bilateral innovation challenge for sectors like agriculture, water and digital health. The challenge will be held on an online platform that will facilitate bilateral collaboration between Israeli and Indian startups, tech-hubs, corporations and other key innovation players in the ecosystem through the new India-Israel Innovation Bridge.




The aim is to leverage Israel’s strengths in technology coupled with India’s market to develop more technology solutions for the most critical challenges in the world. As part of the challenge, a joint panel of judges will select entrepreneurs from India and Israel who will get the opportunity to further develop their solutions through a unique program managed by Invest India and Israel Innovation Authority. The startups that get selected will have the opportunity to interact with investors, corporations, end users and other potential partners in India and Israel.

The India-Israel Innovation Bridge looks to promote knowledge exchange and will provide guides and toolkits to help startups explore opportunities of expansion. It is a joint initiative of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India and Israel Innovation Authority, to bring together the startup ecosystems of India and Israel. Ahmedabad-based iCreate and Hyderabad-based T-Hub and Pears Program have already committed to the startups that will be selected at the innovation challenge which will then be joined by Israeli and Indian corporate partners.
