The months of April and May in India could be a real tyrant for many owing to its scorching heat and high humidity. Whether you’re an office goer or a student, the first thing you desire down your throat after returning home from the heat, is a tangy drink that would refresh you.
Here are few summer drinks that are pleasantly different than the regular ones and could be easily made at home.
1. Pineapple Lemonade
This drink is a frolicsome twist on the traditional lemonade we usually drink. And with the perfect blend of the sweet goodness, it would test like heaven. All you need to do is make a simple syrup.
Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
Instructions
Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved; let cool.
In a large pitcher, whisk together simple syrup, lemon juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and 5 cups water. Place in the refrigerator until chilled. Serve over ice.
2. Watermelon Slush
This refreshing things can be made in just 3 ingredients. Its as easy as slicing up the watermelon, throw it in a blender with some ice and sugar, and press start.
Ingredients
5 cups diced seedless watermelon
2 tablespoons sugar
Juice of 1 lime, optional
Instructions
Combine watermelon, sugar, lime juice and 1 cup ice in blender until smooth.
3. Raspberry Peach Iced Tea
Now this could be a bit tricky and could need a bit gathering of ingredients, but what comes after the hard work is worth everything in the world.
Ingredients
2 tea bags
1 cup raspberries, plus more for garnish
2 peaches, sliced, plus more for garnish
3 tablespoons agave nectar, or more to taste
Mint leaves, for garnish
Instructions
Steep tea bags in 4 cups boiling water according to package instructions; discard tea bags and let cool.
Combine peaches, raspberries and agave nectar in blender until smooth; strain through cheesecloth or fine sieve.
In a large pitcher, whisk together raspberry peach mixture and brewed tea. Place in refrigerator until chilled.
Serve over ice, raspberries, peach slices and mint leaves, if desired.
4. Strawberry pineapple mimosas
You don’t need an excuse to prepare mimosas. A simple addition of strawberries adds a little bit of color and some wine-soaked strawberries to snack on for later, along with a fun tropical pineapple twist.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1 (25.4-ounce) bottle sparkling white wine, chilled
1/2 cup strawberries, thinly sliced
Instructions
Using a pitcher, mix orange and pineapple juice.
Pour orange-pineapple mixture into champagne flutes until half full. Fill glasses with white wine.
Serve immediately, garnished with strawberries, if desired.
5. Sparkling cherry lemonade
Just pitt the cherries and throw everything else into the blender. When ready to serve, just pour in your cherry mixture with sparkling water. Its that easy! Incredibly refreshing and a perfect combination of sweet and tartness in a glass of bubbly goodness.

12 ounces cherries, pitted
3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2/3 cup sugar
4 cups sparkling water

To make the cherry syrup, combine cherries, lemon juice and sugar in blender until smooth. Place in the refrigerator until chilled.
