Snack it up with popcorn this weekend- Spotlight or The Revenant
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter having staged a stellar performance in the 88th Academy Award this week, the two biggest movies is still playing in a theater near you. Still confused which one to catch first! We give you a quick snapshot of what transpired on the Oscars 2016 stage between the two.
The Revenant, Spotlight, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Martian were making headlines even before the event was staged, grabbing a maximum share of the nominations.
However, the biggest speculation was centered on the five-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio. This year he has been nominated in the Best Actor category for the much-acclaimed role in The Revenant. And he did it! He has been conferred with the Best Actor for his impeccable performance in an equally flawless film.

The Revenant –Action, Drama, and Adventure
The movie is based on the surviving journey of Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) in the unchartered wilderness, after having survived a brutal bear attack; only to be left abandoned by his hunting teams. The film is a drama staged in 1823, in which High is driven by vengeance to get back to John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), the former confidant who betrayed and abandoned him.
The Spotlight—Drama/Thriller
Set in 2001, the movie is an investigative drama to investigate allegations against a priest accused of molesting 80 boys. The Boston Globe editor assigns a team to reveal the matter, moving a thriller’s pace. Based on the interview of the victims, while also trying to unseal sensitive documents; the Spotlight unravels its mission to provide proof of a cover-up inside the Roman Catholic Church.
