“You Have a Lot of Power”: Bhumi Pednekar Inspires Students at Under25 Summit at Campus
Actor Bhumi Pednekar delivered a powerful message on youth, purpose, and advocacy at the Under25 Summit at Campus (SAC), held at Xavier’s Institute of Engineering (XIE), Mumbai, on January 28. Organised by Under25, India’s leading youth media network, the summit brought together students for an immersive on-campus experience that blended culture, conversation, and learning.
The highlight of the day was an unfiltered fireside chat titled “How to Disagree Without Killing the Vibe,” featuring Bhumi Pednekar in a candid, high-energy interaction with students. Known for her outspoken views and socially conscious choices, the actor struck a chord with Gen Z by encouraging them to recognise and responsibly use their influence.
“Youth Is the Present, Not Just the Future”
Speaking passionately about advocacy and leadership, Bhumi Pednekar reminded students of their collective power. “Youth is the present and future of our country. You have a lot of power. Make sure there is advocacy in everything you do,” she said. Emphasising impact-driven leadership, she urged young people to channel their voices into meaningful change, adding that they could “bring about a revolution and change the course of history.”
Bhumi Pednekar also touched on her experience as a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum in Davos, highlighting the importance of leading with purpose and using platforms to create real-world impact.
From Films to Food: A Relatable Conversation
Staying true to Under25’s interactive spirit, the session went beyond a traditional celebrity talk. In a segment titled Bhumi Reacts, the actor revisited memorable moments from her film journey and shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes from her sets. An engaging Q&A followed, where students asked everything from career questions to lighter topics like her favourite Mumbai street food—ranging from Chandru’s pani puri to Ashok Vadapav.

Pednekar also addressed themes close to her heart, including breaking beauty stereotypes, embracing individuality, and making intentional choices. She spoke about her excitement for her upcoming crime series Daldal, which many students eagerly responded to.
One of the most resonant moments came when Pednekar spoke about ambition and self-belief. “I think it’s cool to be whatever you want to be,” she said. “The coolest people are those who follow their dreams at any age because age truly does not matter.” The message drew loud applause, reflecting the aspirations and anxieties of a generation navigating identity and purpose.

Under25’s Vision for Youth-Led Culture
Jeel Gandhi, CEO of Under25, highlighted why such engagements matter. “When someone like Bhumi Pednekar engages with the Under25 community, it’s not about celebrity access—it’s about relatability,” he said, adding that her journey mirrors the questions young India is asking today around courage, values, and identity.
The event also featured performances, singing, and dance, with Pednekar joining students on stage, reinforcing SAC’s unique “edutainment” format. Entirely student-run through Under25’s nationwide fellowship network, the summit offered hands-on leadership and programming experience.
As Under25 moves closer to its goal of reaching 200 colleges across 30 cities by March 2026, the successful SAC at XIE stood as a reminder that empowering Gen Z begins with trusting them to lead—and listening when they speak.
