Indian Cricketer Mohit Sharma invests in Crossahead – looking to connect artists and consumers.

Crossahead, the social platform that enables users to search and find professional artists for day-to-day activities receives investments from Indian cricketer Mohit Sharma.

Artists list themselves on the platform and create their own profiles, providing work details, personal details and other required information. Users get to explore, book or view the artists and become fans through social media network. They can reach out to ones they like through the ‘Home’ and Our Artist’ tabs.

As an added benefit, an app has also been launched on GooglePlayStore to make it easier to buy and sell artist services. So far Crossahead has registered more than 10,000 verified artists and has garnered a huge customer base and is expecting it to further grow. The brand is looking at increasing the number of sub-categories and a host of other user-friendly options on the website and app.

Speaking on the announcement, Gaurav Walia, cofounder at Crossahead said, “This is a portal quite different from any of its kind launched till now, as it provides consumers the option to choose from a wide range of genuine artists from a variety of fields whether they be makeup artists, choreographers, Event Artists or Tattoo artists.”

“Artists community seems to have been highly unorganized and Crossahead aims at bringing all the professional artists on a single platform, therefore making it easier for all the users to find an artist of their desire online. Crossahead is creating an ecosystem wherein the Job Opportunities for artists are generated and bridging the gap that prevails in between the artists and the common people whether it be the problem of artists with all the talent not receiving due recognition amidst the masses or the trouble and hassle people face while looking for professional artists to help them for their creative requirements” – added Vishvendra Chaudhary, cofounder at Crossahead.

Other cricketers have also invested in various firms, including Sachin Tendulkar, Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh – who’s startup venture YouWeCan has further invested in ten more start-ups. Read about more sportspersons and celebrities that have invested in start-ups here.
