Independent record label EarthSync comes up with IndiEarth Exchange 2013, a trade event for independent music and film artists.

There’s good news for the indie pantheon out there. While the independent creative music scene has reared its head with fabulous original work happening, things seem to be moving ahead in the business front as well at a similar pace. Collaborations and cohesiveness go hand-in-hand when we’re talking about the independent circuit. IndiEarth, a B2B platform dedicated to independent artists to give them a chance to showcase their work, an EarthSync initiative, has organised a trade event from December 6 to 8 that will include a music festival and 18 independent film screenings from around the world. Over 180 delegates from over 20 countries of the world are scheduled to participate for this event, an opportunity to form business relations and to take original work from India to different parts of the world. Several artists will also be coming and performing in India for this event, as well as established names of the home-grown music industry who will share the stage with contemporary upcoming artists.

The music line-up is an eclectic mix from Robot Koch of all-about-base electronica trio Jahcoozi to Brooklyn based songwriter/visual artist j.viewz. Back from home they have indie electronica rockstars Shaair and Func, Bicycle Days  as well as DJ Nukleya  who seems to be the talk of the town post his fabulous album Koocha Monster made waves. Mauritian Blues and a touch of exotica with Tritonik, folk-electronica outfit Business Class Refugees and French bands Success and French Cowboy & the One round up the line-up over three days.

The event will have conferences which have been partnered with Institut Francais and Creative India. The event also includes screenings of Sahel Calling, a film about the refugee population of  Mali and Sahel, A Dream Takes Wings sourced from archives which documents the evolution of cinema in India and the new age adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Tasher Desh by Q. From the Hindi cinema fraternity Sudhir Mishra, Gitanjali Rao, Jaideep Verma and British film director Arturo Calvate are also part of the festival.

The conferences themselves will be focussed upon sustainable growth models for development of the industry and its infrastructure. It also looks into forming multi-country global networks to support the independent music industry.

There are no tickets for the event and it is free for all. For more information and to register for IndiEarth Exchange 2013, click here
