Only a week before guitar legend Jimi Hendrix died in the September of 1970, he did his last interview with British music journalist Keith Altham in which he spoke of the luxury of life, the helium-like feature of his sounds, and the politics that surrounded him. On February 4, Blank on Blank released an animated video of the interview in an attempt to give a life-like form to Hendrix’s wise words (video below).
Substantiating his take on breaking/smashing guitars on stage, Hendrix says, “I believe everybody should have a room where they can get rid of all their releases. So my room was the stage.”
Blank on Blank is a non-profit organization whose aim lies in transforming lost interviews of famous people to animated videos for the world to see. Other than Hendrix, Blank on Blank has created videos for interviews of Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Tupac Shakur among others.
