Chalkup and Microsoft partner to enhance classroom learning experiences across the globe

Classroom collaboration startup Chalkup and Microsoft have partnered to deliver enhanced learning experiences for students across the globe.

As per an ANI report, Microsoft will be bringing the best of Chalkup’s features including its original rubics system, and make it easier to assess and grade student assignments into “Micosoft Teams”.

As per Eran Megiddo, CVP, Education, the move is in accordance with Microsoft’s continued investments in tools that “help save teachers time, build collaborative classrooms and drive better learning outcomes for students.” In keeping with the same, the tech giant has also hired Justin Chando, co-founder Chalkup.

Similar to Chalkup, ‘Microsoft Teams’ include seamless class discussions, chat and integrated assignments and grading abilities. These include learning tools from Microsoft, which are free and implement proven techniques that help improve a student’s ability to read and write with little or no relation to their age or ability.

Speaking on the partnership, Chando said, “In spending time with the amazing people at Microsoft, it was clear that we were completely aligned in our mission for connecting classrooms, sparking student collaboration, and finding new and innovative ways to work together.” He further added, “We knew Microsoft would be a great fit and we’re thrilled for what the future holds for our customers.”

Co-founded in 2013, Chalkup was built to create a more compelling version of digital classrooms for students. While the company will end its services on June 30, 2018, their customers will have continued support till then and an easy transition to Microsoft Teams thereafter. However, the edu-tech company is no longer accepting new sign ups – with immediate effect.

Microsoft’s Team for Education collaboration services began in March of 2017. It comes as a free add-on to Office 365 Education for those with an Education, Education Plus, Education E3 and/or an Education E5 suite plan.
